KITCHEN DESIGN

Kitchens have become the gathering point in our homes and therefore are complex projects that require skilled design and craftspeople. Space is usually at a premium. This means storage and workspace needs to be innovative, balanced and functional.

Your lifestyle and space will dictate the kitchen planning. A family kitchen will differ from an entertainer’s kitchen. Do you shop weekly or monthly as this will impact storage requirements. What size of oven and hob do you need? How many sinks? How many cooks?

The options for materials are so great that this can become rather confusing. The colour palette needs to blend with the remainder of the home so this needs to be taken into consideration.

BATHROOM DESIGN

Your bathroom is probably the only place you can retreat to and be undisturbed. Very often, the bathroom is a tiny space and therefore needs careful consideration in order to make it comfortable and functional.

My design principal and inspiration is to create spacious looking bathrooms through the use of efficient planning and adequate storage in order to reduce visual clutter.

Good design never dates. You want to be sure your home won’t look dated after a couple of years. There are some wonderful products on the market that are at once functional and beautiful. The bathroom need not be that tiny room you need to escape as quickly as possible.

Create a calm environment by choosing neutral colours, or make it fun and energising by playing with colour.

ARCHITECTURE

I am passionate about residential architectural and interior spaces, and try to achieve the best result for my clients with regard to practical and aesthetically pleasing design.

Each project is unique and special and every client brings different requirements. I encourage my clients to become involved in the design process and this in turn brings about a successful partnership which results in that dream home becoming a reality.

I provide creative solutions for a variety of living environments to achieve a balance between function and Style. I’ve learnt that really listening, leads to success.

THE PROCESS

My role is to listen to your requirements, discuss options and measure the space. Present the best options of layout and materials as well as give advice regarding appliances and other hardware.

Lend a guiding hand with regard to colour, flooring, lighting and other decisions.
The next step would be to price the kitchen. I have a select few cabinet makers that would quote and manufacture, or the client can at this stage buy the plans and quote with their own desired cabinetmaker.

If required – project manage building work and installation and liaise with trades people.
